In late 2024, I started from scratch to design Quixtify, a scheduling and client management platform for beauty salons based in US. My focus was on creating a user-friendly system that streamlined appointment booking and client management, making it easy for salon owners and clients to stay organized and connected.
Problem Statement
- Complex navigation for accessing core features like scheduling and client management
- Inefficient booking system that was difficult for clients to use, leading to missed appointments.
- Lack of integration between different features, such as services and client details.
Challenges
- Simpler appointment scheduling with fewer steps.
- More accessible client management and appointment tracking features.
- A responsive and modern interface that would work seamlessly on both desktop and mobile.
Key Takeaways
Rapid Prototyping: Create quick and simple prototypes to visualize the product, allowing you to validate assumptions through initial user feedback, even with limited time for research.
Halo Effect in UX: A visually appealing UI can attract users and make them more forgiving of early-stage bugs.
Remote Team Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration tools, like Slack and Figma, were key to maintaining smooth coordination within the remote team.
